As Judy Garland struggled for success, in both the entertainment industry and in her personal life, she left behind a legacy of glamour, flamboyance, strength through adversity, tragedy and the music.
Oh, what music. There is something about this iconic voice that speaks to all of us, that lifts our spirits, makes us forget about work and the dishes, and makes us long for a world “where happy little bluebirds fly”. Alicia Renee has put together some of Judy’s best-loved songs. Songs like, “The Trolley Song”, “You Made Me Love You” and, yes, of course, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”.
But what is so unique about this talented singer is that she manages to effortlessly capture the phrasing and nuance of Miss Garland’s performances, while still making them seem her own. Come with this unlikely Judy fan as she revisits some of the songs that made Judy Garland an icon, from “I Got Rhythm” to “The Trolley Song” to “The Man That Got Away”.
